Your average anime/manga junkie, I'm one sadistic and cynical bastard who will make your life hell(behind you anyway)if you get on the wrong side of me. grumpy and emo at times, i can be a real bitch but a pretty good friend(i suppose) and brother. meow.
by the way..majulah singapura is the national anthem of Singapore.anyway so hello everone i'm fresh, back from a week long trip to singapore(alone), feeling so much more satisfied now with all the shopping i've done.not.
well i mean i AM happy after all the shopping in Singapore, but what really amazes me is that everytime, and i mean everytime i go down to Singapore and come back my head screams in frustration, saying mainly-
WHY IS MALAYSIA BEHIND SINGAPORE IN TERMS OF some EVERYTHING?!
its not that i am not patriotic.i love malaysia.but i just cant see why we cant do whatever singapore can do.i mean, with a bit of organisation and less praying on fridays i'm sure the malaysian government can do something about it.
take for example-
you are now in singapore
you drive into a carpark of a shopping mall.you look upwards to the ceiling.LCD numbers flash the amount of empty spaces available in every floor, and on every floor how many spaces there are.easily you drive to the floor with spaces and find your parking lot.
you are now in malaysia you drive into a carpark of a shopping mall.round and round you drive, covering every inch of the carpark to search for your parking lot.to make things worse, the carpark is 5 stories high.round and round and round you drive, and it takes you more then 15 minutes just to get a carpark lot.By the time you park your car, you have little hair left on your head, thanks to your venting of frustration.
you are now in singapore every now and then when you drive around in singapore, you see huge mejestic buildings, very modern-looking with fully equipped and state of the art basketball and football courts and fields.you wonder...daymn what a nice place.
you are now in malaysia when you drive in kl sometimes you come across a set of run down buildings with a look that would probably set your grandfather off into saying "hey, those were during MY time!"these set of buildings will come in cramp areas with unkept football fields and run down basketball courts.
just what am i talking about?
yea you guessed it.SCHOOLS. singapore is a small country.however when it comes to schools, GOVERNMENT schools, mind you, they give the school ample space to build in.the school come with modern computer labs, art studios, gymasium halls and such.every 10 to 15 years or so, the school is fully demolished and is reconstructed/refurbished to keep up to date with the technology today.
malaysia on the other hand dont give a shit about their schools.the primary school that I was in dates back all the way to 1936.thats 69 FREAKING YEARS DAMMIT!every class has like 48 students, which in my opinion is WAY too many kids.school fields are beyond repair, with patches of sand everywhere.Malaysia being such a big country, has schools that are so cramped up because they do not upgrade and refurbish the schools periodically.as our population grows, the schools start to overflow but yet the government does nothing.
another factor that probably contributes ALOT is how they deal with scholarships.lets take malaysia first for example.their JPJ 'scholarships' and such are open only to government school students and we can probably say are specially reserved for bumiputras. thus starts the ever rolling cycle of doom.observe:
(mostly)useless bumis get scholarship---> waste away money obtain from taxes---->useless bumis return and join government----> country goes to the dumps because we are led by useless people.
singapore on the other hand is very different.the most famous scholarship is the ASEAN scholarship, and as the name suggests, anyone from ASEAN can apply for this scholarship.people from all ethic races have equal chance of obtaining this scholarship.therefore,
smart ass people get scholarship---> study well and come back successful--->return to singapore to work as part of scholarship terms---> settle down and gain singapore citizenship--->singapore gain smart ass people, some who join the government--->country kicks ass
bear in mine i have nothing against malaysia and bumis...some of my good friends ARE bumis-_- and i'm a malaysian, so duh i'm patriotic...till maybe i change my citizenship to singaporean.lol.i just hope our government will get the countries priorities straight and not spend money beautifying roundabouts while our public toilets remain dirty and clogged up.
